Hollywood debuts a new name â and a vintage dress code â as stars embrace âReimagined 1920s & â30s Glamourâ at the Shrine Auditorium.
The red carpet rolled out Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall for the newly rebranded 2026 Actor Awards, and with it came a new era for one of Hollywoodâs most watched ceremonies.
Formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the event officially reintroduced itself this season as The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA â a move designed to align the showâs identity with its iconic trophy, âThe Actor,â while reflecting the full scope of the 160,000-member union. Whether the full title sticks in everyday conversation remains to be seen, but the rebrand signals a broader evolution for the ceremony.
There was another notable shift this year: a requested dress code.
âReimagining Hollywood Glamour From the â20s and â30sâ set the sartorial tone for the evening, born from a partnership with Elle magazine and Netflix, which is broadcasting the awards. The collaboration appears aimed at cultivating a viral fashion moment akin to Vogueâs Met Gala â but rooted in old-Hollywood elegance rather than avant-garde spectacle.
Early arrivals suggested that some attendees took the assignment seriously.
Patrick Schwarzenegger stepped onto the carpet in a double-breasted Tom Ford suit that channeled Gatsby-era tailoring, while Sheryl Lee Ralph embraced feathered drama, pairing a Saiid Kobeisy gown with a sweeping boa. Kristen Bell delivered polished, classic glamour, fitting seamlessly into the eveningâs vintage-inspired directive.
With awards season entering its final stretch, the red carpet felt like both celebration and statement â a nod to Hollywoodâs golden age during a year of industry reinvention.
