The actorâs fourth outing as Peter Parker kicks off filming with a new suit, returning Marvel icons, and a first-day set surprise.
For Tom Holland, putting on the Spider-Man suit has become a familiar ritual. But as filming begins on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Marvel star admits that suiting up for his fourth solo outing felt uniquely special â and a little different.
Holland took to Instagram on Sunday to document âday oneâ on set, revealing it was the first time fans were present to witness the start of a Spider-Man shoot. âMy fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,â he says in the minute-long clip. âIt feels different this time somehow⦠itâs really exciting to share this with them.â The actor added, with a grin, âIâm just going to do my best. Hopefully get it right. No pressure.â
The footage also offered a glimpse of Hollandâs new Spidey costume, first revealed on August 3, featuring a larger chest emblem than in Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021). After completing a stunt during filming, Holland quipped, âWow, that was a really good one. That felt sick.â

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Brand New Day promises to expand Peter Parkerâs world with both returning Marvel veterans and fresh additions to the roster. Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, joined by Michael Mandoâs Scorpion and Jon Bernthalâs Punisher. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink joins the franchise in a yet-unknown role.
Plot details are under wraps, but the script comes from franchise mainstays Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film picks up in the aftermath of No Way Home, where Doctor Strangeâs spell erased Peter Parkerâs identity from the memories of everyone â including his closest allies and MJ (Zendaya).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026
